«It is the best result for cinema on TV in the last ten years»: the producer Agostino Saccà celebrates the result of the film The De Filippo brothers. «The film – explains Saccà who produced it with his Pepito – was in the trending topics of Twitter throughout the evening, gathering the appreciation of a prestigious and dynamic audience such as that of social networks. And then we were overwhelmed by the messages of affection from the public and friends. A little – he admits – we expected it, after 10 minutes of applause at the Rome Festival and 12 minutes at the San Carlo theater, in front of an attentive and difficult audience like the Neapolitan one, jealous keeper of its collective memory ». The De Filippo brothers, in fact, arrived on Rai1 after the three-day event at the cinema, on 13, 14 and 15 December: “Also in the cinema it was the second collection on the first day, the first on the second day and the then the third. For a ‘regular’ release – explains Saccà – we would have had to wait for May, given the ‘row’ of stocks penalized in these difficult months by the closures. Rai, which saw the film, asked us to give viewers a Christmas present, and the broad and general audience of Rai1 rewarded us. Moreover, in the face of a competition that now embraces 40-50 networks ».
“We are extremely satisfied with the cultural operation on the history of the De Filippo family’s theatrical dynasty, one of the pillars of contemporary Italian culture, to which the television audience responded with enthusiasm”. “The quality of Sergio Rubini’s direction, the skill of the performers and the accuracy of the production – underlines Del Brocco – are the ingredients of excellence that have given this great success that Rai Cinema and Pepito, thanks to the availability of Rai1, have chosen, after an event in theaters, to offer television to the general public on an exclusive basis. The umpteenth bet won thanks to the Rai team game ».
