Genoa, the first sanctions have been taken for the explosion of firecrackers. A dumpster on fire in Sestri

Genoa – Interventions throughout the city by the men of the municipal police to monitor compliance with the ban on the explosion of firecrackers and barrels, as established by the ordinance of the mayor Bucci in force, from yesterday, until the whole day of January 1st. At the beginning of the evening the first sanctions had already been raised.

At the stroke of midnight, in piazza de Ferrari, a hundred people greeted the arrival of the new year. And at the same time, in the Castelletto area, a young man addressed his beloved marriage proposal, amid the applause of friends and a choreography of fireworks (photo below).

Around 23 a waste bin caught fire in Sestri Ponente, investigations are underway to identify any responsible persons. Local police and firefighters intervened on the spot. Until 11 pm there were no injuries.

Investigations in progress also a San Fruttuoso, where the windows of a building were shattered by a loud firecracker exploded in the street. (Photo below, from the Facebook group Sei di San Fruttuoso if …).
