In an interview with The print, the mayor of Milan, Giuseppe Sala, has returned to address a very dear question to Milan e Inter: the one concerning the new stadium.
To date, the Municipality and the clubs have not yet reached an agreement, we do not know if a new facility will be built from scratch, or if more simply the renovation of San Siro and the surrounding area will be carried out. In this regard, Sala has no doubts:
“It is right to deal with related issues, for example the use of urbanization charges, but there is no turning back. For two years, since the teams have clearly told me that they would not remain at San Siro, I have been working on a solution”.
In the interview for the Piedmontese newspaper, the mayor of Milan talked about another sporting issue, that inherent to Olympic Games. In particular, Sala was asked what he thought of Turin’s candidacy as host city for the 2026 Winter Games. The mayor strenuously defends the reasons for Milan and Cortina, and replies that:
“Turin had its chance, the administration decided not to go ahead with the project. At this point I don’t see why we need to change governance and organization. I think that things in life and work are always made up of three phases: analysis, decision, implementation. And I hate continuing to question the decisions taken “.
