FC Bayern is currently sliding from problem to problem. Regardless of whether it is a vaccination debate, corona cases, chaotic scenes at the JHV or expiring player contracts: FC Hollywood is constantly in the headlines and has more issues to solve than the club would like. Most recently, reports made the rounds that Serge Gnabry’s extension was in jeopardy due to the vaccination debate. At least that seems to be a fallacy.
For months they have been waiting for the news that Serge Gnabry will extend his contract with Bayern beyond 2023. The story seems a bit like when a marathon runner has completed 42 kilometers but then does not find the target corridor.
Recently, doubts have been raised as to whether the future of the winger actually lies in Munich. These were based on Serge Gnabry’s lack of corona vaccination and the salary cuts that resulted from the player’s stay in quarantine.
imageEditor Christian Falk now reports in his podcast ‘Bayern Insider’ that the tough negotiations have nothing to do with the reasons mentioned. The talks are said to have continued as normal. The Bayern expert expects an agreement in 2022, although the two parties are apparently still a few euros apart. However, it seems to be about differences that need to be resolved for those involved.
At least the annoying vaccination issue is now over for now, especially since the player recently decided to have a vaccination.
In the case of Corentin Tolisso, on the other hand, there is only one way to profit from the player. Due to the fact that the Frenchman refuses to extend it beyond 2022, there is only the possibility of still generating money in winter.
According to Christian Falk, Inter Milan and Tottenham Hotspur are courting the 27-year-old. The reigning Italian champions should also be looking for a midfielder for the coming transfer period. The Munich-based company is aiming for a sale in winter, which could move the matter over the next few weeks.
However, from the perspective of the Munich team, it makes little sense to sell the French international for an apple and an egg. After all, Tolisso is currently playing a not unimportant role as the first replacement for Kimmich and Goretzka. The midfielder is very solid, serene and, for once, does not have to deal with injuries.
If Kimmich or Goretzka were to fail in a Champions League knockout game, Tolisso would be needed. Otherwise the so far very disappointing Sabitzer would have to run. It is doubtful whether it will really pay off to sell the French for a few million in the winter.
