Trainer Giovanni van Bronckhorst has made his debut at Rangers with a victory. The former coach and player of Feyenoord saw his Scottish formation in the Europa League beat Sparta Prague 2-0 at home.
Colombian Alfredo Morelos scored both goals.
Van Bronckhorst, the 46-year-old former international of Orange, has taken over the work in Glasgow from Steven Gerrard. The former Liverpool star left Aston Villa in the Premier League.
Lyon had already qualified for the next stage of the tournament as group winner. Peter Bosz’s team also won at Brøndby IF (1-3), their fifth victory in a row. Rangers can still reach the eighth finals as number 2 via a play-off.
