PSG lost in the Champions League group stage. The visit to the Etihad Stadium to face Manchester City on Thursday (25/11) early in the morning ended in a 1-2 defeat. The visitors lost despite taking the lead through Kylian Mbappe, after Raheem Sterling and Gabriel Jesus turned things around.
This defeat ensured Les Parisien qualified from Group A in second place. While Man City qualified as winners of the group. The spotlight directed at PSG speaks of two things. Mauricio Pochettino’s future as head coach is due to rumors linking him to Manchester United and his team’s difficulty facing high pressure.
PSG defender, Presnel Kimpembe, still insists his team has high quality. Kimpembe said this defeat cannot be used as an illustration of the quality his team has.

“Our main goal is to qualify for the last 16, we can’t deny that. But we still feel disappointed with this defeat. We understand that we can do better. We always want to compete and are not happy with defeats.”
“We have to improve our cohesiveness as a team. We also have to work hard in order to get enough advantage to win,” said Presnel Kimpembe in a post-match interview.
Kimpembe and his teammates are still top of the Ligue 1 standings. However, the inconsistency of performance shown by Mauricio Pochettino’s squad makes it doubtful that they can advance far at continental level.
