With technical problems, shouting in the debates and “zap geezers” disguised as commentators, Jovem Pan’s new TV station, JP News, has shown that it remains faithful to the quality standard it shows on the radio.
The editorial line, in line with conservatives, also confirmed that the station has nothing for its youth. Not even a pan. It should be called TV Old Straight.
With each new hire announcement, the new channel proves that there are no low expectations that cannot get worse. Aside from a few names that should receive an extra for unhealthy conditions, casting commentators is a dark dream team. A “We Are the World”, but with people who want the harm of others. If DC were given carte blanche to make a Justice League with only villains, the Injustice League, the writers would not be as creative as JP News.
In this “Big Brother” of denial, the list of those called up includes names like Caio Coppola. Because he didn’t have a hit when he was an indie rocker, the former musician decided to take on Brazilians thoughts such as “more Americans die choking each year than Covid’s”. Because of him, his CNN colleagues would jump out of the “Big Debate” show like it was a burning building.
Alexandre Garcia used the dusty argument of the “right to come and go” to criticize the isolation in the pandemic. He said young people don’t need to be vaccinated and defended early treatment, a statement that led to his resignation from CNN, which, as he himself proved, takes some effort.
Commentator José Carlos Bernardi last week suggested, as a plan to get Brazil out of the crisis, “to kill a bunch of Jews and seize their economic power.” He was removed from his position in the Legislative Assembly of São Paulo, but continues with his frame of “opinion”.
No surprise for a TV station that also hired Ricardo Salles as a commentator. Investigated for favoring loggers, the former minister of the Environment was responsible for some of the biggest ecological disasters in history, in addition to the dismantling of environmental inspection. Maybe the new Jovem Pan News wants to do what Salles didn’t do for the environment and show how garbage is recycled.
