The Nerazzurri have not been knocked out in a league match after a European match since March 2020
An important European victory propels Inter towards the next Serie A match. The Nerazzurri face Venice away: kick-off on Saturday 20.45. Dzeko’s brace gave Inter three key points in the Champions League: second place with ten points. Real is at the top of group D with twelve, the third position is occupied by the Sheriff with six points. Closes the already eliminated Shakhtar to one. Inzaghi’s team will try the assault on first place in the last challenge with Ancelotti’s men scheduled for next 7 December. Venezia won the last league match against Bologna: 1-0 in the 90th minute with a goal from Okereke.
Inter are currently third in Serie A with 28 points won in thirteen games. The balance sheet says eight wins, four draws and one defeat. The recent success with Napoli has allowed the Nerazzurri to get closer to the top. Now Milan and Spalletti’s team are four points ahead. Before the victory with Bologna, Venezia managed to overcome Mourinho’s Roma: 3-2 thanks to goals from Caldara, Aramu and Okereke. Now Zanetti’s men are in fourteenth place with 15 points. So far they have scored four wins, three draws and six defeats.
There are 32 times in which Venice and Inter have met. The numbers are all in favor of the Nerazzurri: nineteen wins against seven of the lagoons, six draws. The last challenge between the two teams dates back to the 01-02 season: equal to Penzo, Vieri and Pippo Maniero the scorers. In Serie A, Venezia have only won two of the six games played with Inter in the three-point era. One fact is good for Inzaghi’s men. It has been since March 2020, against Juve, that the Nerazzurri have not been knocked out in a league match after a European match. This season there have been two hits and two evens. The lagoons have obtained two victories in a row. The team does not reach three even since ’62. Zanetti’s group will have to face the Inter attack, the third in Europe after Bayern and Liverpool.
