As far as BMW is concerned, the most important letter of the alphabet is undeniably the ‘M’. The ‘M’ for ‘Motorsport’, that is, the name of BMW’s division that became involved in racing and later also with private fun rockets. That department will soon be blowing out 50 candles, and they are celebrating that at BMW with a retro logo and the return of some legendary M colors.
For M and M package
For example, next year cars will roll off the production line in Munich in colors such as Dakar Yellow, Imola Red or Daytona Violet, and with a BMW logo surrounded by blue, red and purple accents. That is in fact the original logo of BMW M vehicles, before the M1 first showed the well-known M with colored stripes next to it in 1978. These options will be available from BMW for cars with a production date from May 24, 2022, the 50th anniversary of the Motorsport division. Customers can apply the logo and colors to all models in the current M range, and to all regular BMWs opting for the M Sport package.
However, BMW M has produced many other iconic models throughout its history than you can find in its current range. Then we think, for example, of the M1, the only dedicated M model to this day, or the compact 1M, but also of the E28 primal M5 or the various M3 generations, from four-cylinder to proud V8. So plenty of choice. But if you could choose between all the cars from the glorious M history, which car would you prefer to stick your retro logo on?
