In honor of its 120th anniversary, Royal Enfield presented a special edition of its Interceptor and Continental GT 650, including a special livery and extras such as a windshield and block protection. Worldwide, the special editions are limited to 480 pieces.
Where the 650cc models use an air/oil-cooled two-cylinder, it started 120 years ago for Royal Enfield with single-cylinders, mainly for the Indian market. In September 2018, the Continental GT650 and Interceptor 650 introduced the first two-cylinder units since the Interceptor of 1970. These were built to offer the (Indian) home market a powerful alternative and to provide the rest of the world with a serious mid-range engine. . And that worked out nicely! In short, a good basis for two special editions in honor of the 120th anniversary.
In honor of the anniversary, the Continental and Interceptor 650 have a black and chrome design. Various parts such as the block and the muffler are also finished in black. In addition, both models received extra parts such as a small fly screen, crash pads and heel protectors. A tank badge with the serial number and the 120th-anniversary livery complete the picture. A total of 120 units of both types are made for Europe, India, Southeast Asia and America. In Europe they will be available from the first quarter of next year, the price tag is still a while yet.
