This was announced by the American space agency NASA. Former President Donald Trump had said there would be humans on the moon again by 2024.
One of the reasons for the mission’s delay is the lawsuit filed by space company Blue Origin against multi-billionaire Jeff Bezos over the construction of NASA’s lunar lander. The Amazon founder disagreed that SpaceX, the company of Tesla CEO Elon Musk, should be allowed to build the craft, but he lost that case last week.
Space suits
Earlier, NASA had already expressed doubts about the feasibility of 2024 because the spacesuits for the astronauts are not ready in time. The corona pandemic also plays a role in the delay of the Artemis 3 mission.
For the first time since 1972
SpaceX is developing a spacecraft that will allow astronauts to set foot on the moon again for the first time since 1972. A woman and a non-white man are planned to land on the moon by 2025. A manned mission to Mars should follow at a later stage.
