While we’re in sweet waiting for updates on Starfield and The Elder Scrolls 6, It never hurts to talk about another of the great Bethesda franchises: Fallout. The last installments in the series were Fallout 4 in 2015, and the less loved Fallout 76 in 2018. Since then we have not heard more about the title. Of course, knowing Bethesda, it is not surprising that they have not said a peep so few years after the launch of the title. However, today Todd Howard has thrown us a little bomb that will serve to start the hype.
Todd Howard, cabeza de Bethesda, has had a fairly recent interview with IGN. During the talk, Howard talked about the chances of seeing a new Fallout game in the future. Unfortunately, if you were still hoping to see it happen soon, Todd Howard assures that this will not happen. At the moment, it seems that neither Bethesda Game Studios nor any other studio is working on the next installment of the franchise, although Howard assures that there is a very basic material on which they have been working since 2018. However, Fallout 5 would come some time after The Elder Scrolls 6 and Starfield, and we already know that for the arrival of both games a good time is missing.
“We have worked with other people from time to time, I cannot say what will happen. You know, we have a Fallout 5 One Pager, which we want to do. Again if I could wave my hand and take that away [lo haría]. You know, I’d like to find a way to speed up what we do, but I can’t really say today, or commit to anything, when something is going to happen, other than saying our cadence is Starfield and then Elder Scrolls 6. ”
The Elder Scrolls 6, for example, appears to be at the moment in its design phase, whereas Starfield is taking all the studio’s attention at this time. For this reason, it is very likely that we will not see Fallout 5 until well into the decade, so do not wait stopped.
