A few hours ago we told you that Jaime Rodríguez “El Bronco”, current governor of Nuevo León, announced the launch of his Twitch channel. As he continues to work as president of the Monterrey government, he still cannot do Call of Duty O Pokémon. What he was able to do is present his Sixth Government Report, which had more audience than official PlayStation and Xbox streams.
What happens is that, for several moments, the official stream of the El Bronco government report on Twitch had between 600 and 800 viewers. At all times, the politician had a very active chat, who shared memes, jokes and other comments that were pure spam.

The really important thing is that the El Bronco really managed to surpass the broadcasts available on official channels of console brands. For example, PlayStation was broadcasting a tournament of Guilty Gear, which had about 520 spectators. For its part, the Power I was in a stream remembering Forza Horizon 4 with 74 viewers while El Bronco had 810 people watching it live.
Is The Bronco bigger than PlayStation and Xbox? Not for us, although surely there will be some who want to argue about it. What this does show us is that Twitch is a huge communication medium in which even politicians want to enter to reach new generations.
It remains to be seen what El Bronco will do later with his Twitch channel. For now, at least he got a bunch of people to tune in to a government report and entertain themselves with his chat.
And to you, what did you think of the El Bronco stream? Do you think Twitch will be part of the future of politics? Tell us in the comments.
