The house was to be demolished, and all the games and accessories would have been lost forever.
The explorations that youtubers do in abandoned sites, sometimes they have very unexpected results. Such was the case with the guys from the Cheap Finds Gold Mines channel, who found an incredible collection of old titles and other accessories, surprisingly in good condition. Among what they found were games like The Legend of Zelda: Wind Waker, and the chainsaw controller from Resident Evil 4.
The collection was distributed among 8 resellers. The video, which lasts almost 25 minutes, shows us a room full of dirt, humidity and insects, which had not been visited in 20 years. Aimee and Korbin, the people behind the aforementioned YouTube channel, reported a value of $ 100,000 approximately, for the entire collection of titles and accessories that they found.
Later, the story behind this abandoned collection became known. A woman named Stephanie was the one who cleared things up. The house belonged to his uncle, who lived on the property since 1965. However, she moved in 2019 due to illness.
After losing a loved one, Stephanie’s uncle began collecting things that would remind him of this person, which turned out to be video games and other accessories worn by gamers. The house, and all its contents, was going to be demolished, but the visit of Aimee and Korbin rescued the collection, which was later distributed among 8 resellers, each one taking $ 20,000 in merchandise.
This is not the first time that we have witnessed exorbitant amounts of money, tied to old titles. The most expensive video game in history, which happened to be Super Mario 64, sold for more than $ 1,500,000.
