Fortunately, broadcasts on Twitch and other platforms that seek to raise funds for a good cause are becoming more and more common. This week, the popular youtuber Technoblade, who rose to fame due to his videos of Minecraft, was deserving of applause from the community after he put on a highly successful charity stream.
On September 25, the content creator used his YouTube account to make a live broadcast of Minecraft, in which his followers could alter what was happening in the game through donations. The event was also attended by other renowned influencers such as Philza, Ranboo, Squid Kid, Wilbur and Skeppy.
The charity stream sought to raise funds for the Sarcoma Foundation of America, an organization that financially supports research into a type of cancer that accounts for 15% of childhood cases.
After weeks of absence, Technoblade uploaded a video at the end of August where he reported that, unfortunately, he suffers from cancer. The news shocked his followers and community members, who expressed their support on social media. Also, youtubers like Dream and awesandyde wanted to do their bit and raised funds for charity.
