The news regarding Erling Haaland’s future has become one of the things that has attracted quite a lot of attention throughout the 2021 summer transfer market, his consistency and sharpness with Borussia Dortmund has made him wanted by a number of top European clubs.
Chelsea even had time to make him their main target, but then chose to withdraw because they were required to pay 150 million pounds, not to mention the exorbitant salary set by the agent, Mino Raiola.
The man who is also an agent of Matthijs de Ligt asked Chelsea to provide a salary of 820 thousand pounds per week plus an agent fee of 34 million pounds. Raiola also demanded that Haaland be paid a total of 275 million pounds over a five-season contract – which includes salaries, bonuses and other fees.
In the end, Haaland canceled his departure and remained at Dortmund, however, this did not necessarily make the rumors of his move subside, not a few predicted that he would leave in the summer of 2022.
Steve McManaman, the legendary Liverpool player who also played for Real Madrid, also talked about Haaland’s future, the Englishman assessed that the 22-year-old would be suitable to join Los Blancos.
“Do I think that Liverpool will participate in the competition for Erling Haaland in the 2022 summer transfer market? No,” said McManaman as reported by Football Espana.
“I think there is a possibility if he will join Real Madrid, I also feel that Haaland likes Madrid,” he added.
Erling Haaland is still Die Borussen’s mainstay in the 2021/22 season, so far he has collected 11 goals from eight matches while helping his team occupy the third place in the Bundesliga standings.
