Eintracht Frankfurt split up at the start of the Europa League season with a 1-1 draw against Fenerbahce. Sam Lammers was able to compensate for the early lead of the guests by Mesut Özil with his first goal for the SGE. In the second round, the Eagles were superior, but they lacked the necessary punch for a home win.
It became curious in stoppage time when U21 European champion Mergim Berisha placed the margin of a saved penalty in the Eintracht goal, but ran into the penalty area too early. Instead of winning it was called a free kick Frankfurt.
The SGE players in the individual review.
0: 1 – Mesut Özil (10th minute)
1: 1 – Sam Lammers (41st)
Trapp saves penalty against Pelkas (90 + 2)
Kevin Trapp: Unhappy with the first goal, but no guilt. Caused the penalty shortly before the end of the game, parried the penalty and was then lucky that the referee punished Berishas for entering the penalty area too early with a margin. 6/10
Danny da Costa: With problems on the defensive in the first round, but also good actions forward. 6/10
Martin Hinteregger: A bit shaky at the beginning of the game. Solid second half. 6/10
Evan N’Dicka: Solid performance from the French. Very pass-safe. 7/10
Erik Durm: Very inconspicuous in the game forward. Defensively stable. 6/10
Daichi Kamada: Trying, but quite unsuccessful in his actions. 5/10
Djibril Sow: Tried again and again to push, but had problems in the center in the direct duels. 6/10
Kristijan Jakic: Some ball losses, but also strong actions. Introduced the 1: 1 with a deep ball very well. Combative outstanding. 7/10
Filip Kostic: Assist to compensate. Otherwise very easy to run and always dangerous. However, many bad passes. Had the double chance to win, with which he would have crowned an overall good performance. 7/10
Rafael Borré: Traveling a lot. It should be noted that a strike partner suits his game better. Often on the right wing. Waiting for highlight actions for the harmony. 6/10
Sam Lammers: First goal in the SGE jersey. Could still be worth gold for unity. 7/10
Jens Petter Hauge (from 72.): The Norwegian came into play for Borré. Couldn’t set any accents in the last 20 minutes. 5/10
With his goal to equalize, Atalanta loan Sam Lammers was able to celebrate his first goal for Frankfurt Eintracht. In the second half he was again freezing in front of the goal. The goal was previously not given because of an offside position by Daichi Kamada.
The Dutchman indicated against Fenerbahce that he is the wanted “tower” in the storm center of Eintracht.
