Work, companies in difficulty: welders, blacksmiths, computer scientists and artisans are missing
Founders, welders, tinsmiths, coppersmiths, blacksmiths, but also computer technicians and specialists in mathematical, computer and chemical sciences: these are the most workers “difficult to find“, according to the bulletin of the Excelsior information system, produced by Unioncamere and Anpal. It seems an all-Italian paradox: in a country where the lack of work, especially due to the pandemic, is making itself felt more and more, many companies find themselves in difficulty in finding new specialized personnel to hire.
In particular, with figures in hand, the share of recruitments for which companies declare difficulties in finding the hiring amounted to 36.4%: 5.5 percentage points more than in September 2019, which rises to 51.6% for skilled workers, to 48.4 % for executives, 41.4% for technical professions and 37.7% for intellectual and scientific professions.
In detail, the most difficult to find figures are founders, welders, tinsmiths, coppersmiths, metal carpentry fitters, which represent 66.2%) blacksmiths, tool makers and related, a quota 65,8%, craftsmen and skilled workers in textiles and clothing which exceed 65%. Difficult to find also i IT, telematic and telecommunication technicians, fermi al 59,2%, i commercial distribution technicians at 58.7% and those of management of production processes of goods and services to 57.1%, as well as the specialists in mathematical, computer, chemical, physical and natural sciences respectively at 57.2% and engineers at 47.8%.
For graduates in the various fields of engineering and for those in the medical-health disciplines almost half of the recruitments envisaged by the companies are difficult to find; a similar share, 48.3%, concerns graduates in mechanics, mechatronics and energy, while the difficulty in finding qualified professionals in construction and mechanics exceeds 50%: 53.6% for both. In the end, to meet the the greatest difficulties in finding are the enterprises of the North-East regions: 41.5% of the figures sought are difficult to find, followed by those of the North West at 36.3%, Center at 34.0% and South and Islands at 33.2%.
