The current Toyota RAV4 has been with us for a while now. Three years, to be exact, and that is usually the time when manufacturers come up with a facelift. Toyota is instead coming out with a new version for its popular SUV, the Adventure. Although it does come with a footnote, because the brand indicates that every RAV4 will soon receive a similar front.
Rougher on the outside, softer on the inside
The RAV4 Adventure gets a tougher look with more angular bumper work, extra skid plates and matte gray 19-inch wheels. However, the grille in particular will attract attention because it is completely different from the current RAV4. For example, the grille has grown a bit and it now extends to the hood with the Toyota logo in the middle on two black slats. The headlights retain more or less the same shape, but are also renewed: the Adventure gets sleek LED copies. Optionally, you can also provide the rougher SUV with a stylish, two-tone paint.
Each Adventure version of the RAV4 is available exclusively as a four-wheel drive hybrid. It combines a 2.5-liter four-cylinder block in the front with two electric motors, one at the combustion engine and one at the rear axle, all together good for 222 hp. In addition, you will find a slightly modified interior in the cabin with orange stitching and deeper, more padded seats. The latter feature would also be extended to the rest of the RAV4 range with the facelift.
The RAV4 Adventure will be available in the Toyota catalog from the first quarter of 2022. Around that time we can expect a facelift of the entire RAV4 range.
