The objective test of the Military Police of Alagoas competition, which had the result released on September 10, is the target of investigation by the Civil Police of Alagoas for evidence of fraud by 150 candidates, who would have bought the template for the test. The Government of Alagoas temporarily suspended the event this Wednesday (15).
The discovery began when a man was arrested for contempt, in the Santa Lúcia neighborhood, in Maceió, for refusing to turn down the loud music of a party in celebration of his approval in the first phase of the competition. When consulting the intelligence system, the police discovered that the man was arrested seven times and does not have a high school education, a basic requirement for the competition. With him, a test with the template and three cell phones were seized and he ended up in jail, last Sunday (12).
After the occurrence, the Civil Police opened an investigation to investigate the alleged fraud, last Monday (13). The expertise on cell phones must indicate if there was communication with the group suspected of selling the test template. The case is being investigated by Deic (Special Division of Investigations and Captures) of Alagoas.
What caught the attention of the police is that the man answered 100 questions and left the last 20 blank, similar to what at least another 150 candidates did, and classified himself among the top places in the competition.
A collective lawsuit filed by a group of people who took the contest and felt aggrieved was filed, under urgent protection, so that the continuation of the contest is suspended until the contest is annulled. The temporary suspension was announced today by the Government of Alagoas.
The class action also asks the Court to determine that the government of the State of Alagoas terminates the contract with the Zebraspe or that new tests are carried out by the bank, in addition to a fine of R$ 3 million for collective pain and suffering.
The contest was organized by Seplag-AL (Secretary of State for Planning, Management and Heritage). In a statement, the agency stated that it is demanding that the competition be fair to Cebraspe and following up on police investigations.
“The intention is that we now have all the peace of mind to wait for the investigations to proceed and make the most appropriate decisions regarding the event. We are very dedicated to this because our main objective is to continue and finish this competition within the foreseen deadline. “, stated the secretary of Planning of Alagoas, Fabrício Marques Santos.
The PMAL competition offered 1,060 places, 1,000 for the position of soldier (high school) and 60 for aspiring officer (higher education). After the training course, salaries can reach R$8,000. The tests were applied in Alagoas, Pernambuco and Sergipe and mobilized 67 thousand applicants.
The Secretary of Public Security of Alagoas, Alfredo Gaspar de Mendonça, commented on the matter, through Twitter, and stated that despite the performance of the test not being the responsibility of the SSP-AL (Secretary of Public Security), he follows the investigations into the alleged fraud.
“I ordered the public security intelligence to investigate the news of irregularities in the civil service exam held. If confirmed, the criminal(s) will be arrested and excluded from the event. The SSP does not part of the organization of the competition, but it will help in the clarification”, said the secretary.
