In the 2021/22 Premier League competition, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s Manchester United continues to show positive performances by sitting at the top of the standings, after collecting ten points from the four matches he has played.
However, Solskjaer has not yet brought MU to success during the Champions League. In fact, the Red Devils just suffered a 1-2 defeat against the Swiss team, Young Boys.
This makes the Norwegian coach have tasted seven defeats from his 11 matches in European competition, since he took charge of the club based at Old Trafford since 2018.
Manchester United’s inconsistency in the hands of Solskjaer, Jason Cundy, a former Chelsea and Tottenham Hotspur player, finally gave advice if the club had to think about ending the partnership with The Baby Faced Assassin.
Cundy, even suggested that the Red Devils immediately replace his coaching role to Antonio Conte who is still vacant, after the Italian coach decided to resign from his position at Inter Milan.
“(Poor result against Young Boys) It has exposed Solskjaer to a bad situation. I would sack him. We know what’s coming, don’t we? You have Antonio Conte out there,” said Cundy of Mirror Football.
“Solskjaer didn’t have a good run in the Champions League. Last season alone, he didn’t qualify for the group and had to go down to the Europa League,” he concluded.
However, it seems it is still too early to judge Solskjaer this season because United are still in their opening match, so there is a chance to bounce back in the next five games.
