Inter Milan will face Real Madrid in the first match of the Champions League group stage. Inter coach Simone Inzaghi insists his team must play perfectly if they want to get positive results.
Inzaghi also praised the quality of Madrid coach, Carlo Ancelotti. According to him, the former AC Milan coach is one of the best coaches in the world today. This year Inter are targeting to qualify for the knockout round after last season failed to make it happen.
Last year the Nerazzurri were bottom of Group B with six points, the result of one win, three draws and two defeats.
Inzaghi got a different fate last year with Lazio when he successfully brought the Biancocelesti through to the round of 16 after finishing second in Group F.
“What happened last year is in the past. We have a golden opportunity this year. It’s a tough group, but we want to go through. I think experience will be very important. There are two other teams that will put pressure on us,” explained Inzaghi as quoted by Football Italia.
“We have to be perfect in tomorrow’s game. Ancelotti is one of the best coaches in history. It’s great to talk about football with him. Inter haven’t progressed to the last 16 since 2011, and that will be our target from the start of the match,” he added.
