Juventus had to go home with their heads down when they played away to Diego Armando Maradona Stadium, Napoli’s headquarters in the match of the third week of Serie A, Saturday (11/9).
Opening the advantage through Alvaro Morata in the 10th minute, Juve finally had to lose by a thin score 2-1 after I Partenopei replied through goals from Matteo Politano and Kalidou Koulibaly.
This result is certainly a disadvantage for Juve, they are still without a win in the 2021/22 season and are still stuck in 16th position in the standings. After the match, Massimiliano Allegri immediately asked his team to get up from adversity.
“I can’t talk much about my players in this match. We performed poorly against Empoli, but now Juve have to pay a heavy price for a number of mistakes made,” said Allegri as reported by Football Italia.
“Technically, we were wrong and lost the ball a lot, especially in the second half, while Napoli did so well. In world football, when you fail to win, the thing to do is stay still and keep working hard,” he added.
The Juventus players seem to have to get up soon and forget about this defeat, considering that Paulo Dybala et al will have an away match to Eleda Stadium, Malmo’s headquarters in the inaugural match of the Champions League group stage, Wednesday (15/9) early morning WIB.
