Beautiful season finale in the Italian ACI Sport F4: in Austria the son of the former Williams F1 regains the top of the championship. For the pupil of Toto Wolff a great debut with the Prema. The season is decided at Mugello and Monza
The Italian F4 championship in the rookies category, the rookies, is more and more exciting. On Sunday the fifth test (out of 7) was staged in Zeltweg and there was no lack of emotions, in a race in which the rain was the great protagonist, with Safety Car and neutralizations for accidents in series. The ranking dedicated to rookie riders is very hard-fought and the main news is the return to command of Lorenzo Patrese. Riccardo’s son, unforgotten former Williams F1, on the AKM Motorsport Tatuus, with three heats closed with two thirds and a second place, took the lead again against Conrad Laursen. The Dane from Prema also scored points in all the heats, but is now 4 points behind: 167 for Patrese, 163 for Laursen, with the Russian Nikita Bedrin (Van Amersfoort Racing) behind at 145.
Andrea Kimi Antonelli’s first round of the season was also excellent. He made his debut at the wheel of the Prema and immediately stood out by winning the first heat and finishing two more times on the podium. Antonelli, son of art (his father is a former driver and founder of the Antonelli Motorsport team), is one of the greatest prospects in world motorsport, so much so that the Mercedes team principal, Toto Wolff, has grabbed him. Born in 2006, he turned fifteen on August 25th, the minimum age to take to the track with the F4. Antonelli has already won the European Karting title in the OK category and now his debut in F4, immediately very positive. He will also run the two final tests of Mugello (10 October) and Monza (31 October), the decisive ones for the championship.
