It was a special scene during the home game of the Dutch national team in the Philips stadium. Young Amin Aktaou ran onto the field and snapped a selfie with Memphis Depay.
Amin told Humberto yesterday why he ran onto the field. Two weeks ago, when it came to selfies with famous football players at home, Amin’s mother joked: “You wouldn’t dare, you’re not going to do it.”
His mother, Naima Chahman, who also joined Humberto, said it was ‘never the intention’ for Amin to run onto the field. “He’s a very quiet youngster and I definitely didn’t expect him to do something like that,” she said. “I don’t challenge him anymore, I don’t do that anymore.”

His father bought tickets for the match. “One minute before the end of the game I thought: now I have to go, this is my chance,” said Amin.
Taken by security
He took the selfie with Memphis and ran back into the stands. “After that, we were taken by security,” Amin said. The family receives another letter about possible consequences. Amin risks a fine and a stadium ban. “That would be a shame,” said the young football fan.
“Let’s just say I don’t approve,” Chahman said. “It’s a joke that got out of hand that is not good to talk about. But that boy has had the day of his life.”
