ISTANBUL, 20 AUG – “We believe that Tehran and Beijing, on the basis of a strategic plan, can cooperate in Afghanistan at different levels”. This was stated by Hossein Amirabdollahian, designated foreign minister of the new Iranian government led by the fundamentalist Ebrahim Raisi, meeting in Tehran with the Special Representative of China for Afghanistan, Yu Xiao Yong. “The people of Afghanistan have demonstrated throughout history that they will never tolerate foreign occupation and domination,” added Amirabdollahian, pending confirmation by Parliament of the ministerial appointment.
