After repeated attacks on members of the Supreme Court, Jair Bolsonaro cursed this Friday (6), in front of supporters in Santa Catarina, Minister Luís Roberto Barroso.
In a video shared on social networks, the president appears greeting some people in Joinville and calls Barroso a “son of a bitch”. In the passage, the president suggests that the minister would have sent people to the place to attack him.
At the same time, Bolsonaro, speaking at an event, said that “part” of the court wanted “the return of corruption and impunity”, but denied having offended any magistrate in recent days.
“I didn’t offend any minister of the Supreme Court, I just mentioned Mr. Barroso, defender of the terrorist [Cesare] Batisti, in favor of abortion, drug liberation, reducing the age for vulnerable rape, he wants our 12-year-old daughters and granddaughters to have sex without any problems. This same minister voted for the right of lovers”, he said.
Bolsonaro traveled to Joinville, where he disembarked in the morning and spoke at a luncheon with businessmen. In the afternoon, he participated in the delivery of two trucks for the city’s Voluntary Fire Department and, in the evening, he should also attend a dinner. The agenda in Santa Catarina continues until this Saturday (7), when the president participates in a motorcycle in Florianópolis.
Few people wore a Covid-19 protective mask among the hundreds of lunch guests. Among the participants of the event were Pastor Silas Malafaia, businessman Luciano Hang and the deputy governor of Santa Catarina, Daniela Reinehr (no party).
Citing previous administrations, especially of the PT, the president associated “part” of the Supreme Court with the desire for “the return of corruption and impunity”.
In recent days, Bolsonaro repeated coup speeches and spoke of the possibility of using weapons “outside the four lines of the Constitution” amid his demand for the implantation of printed votes and the threat of not holding elections in 2022.
He also called Alexandre de Moraes a “dictatorial minister” and said that “his time will come”.
The president of the STF, Luiz Fux, made a scathing speech this Thursday (5), saying that Bolsonaro does not keep his word. Fux canceled the meeting between the heads of the Three Powers he had called.
This Friday, Bolsonaro also criticized the Brazilian voting system again. “Am I attacking Barroso? I’m not. I think he should be proud and hear the truth from me. It is he who says that the urns are inviolable, the more adequate term would be impenetrable. These kinds of people want to decide the elections next year. I want and I want clean, democratic elections, without half a dozen people counting the votes in a dark room”, he said.
“I don’t want power, I want peace and sovereignty, I want your freedom, but the soul of democracy is the vote, and what you want is to eliminate the vote,” he continued.
Bolsonaro also attacked members of the G7, the majority of the CPI in the Senate, which is investigating the government’s handling of the health crisis. He said the group doesn’t want to uncover diversion of resources in the pandemic, but rather to attack the government.
