Giorgio Chiellini will also play for Juventus for the next two seasons. The 36-year-old defender has signed until mid-2023. The 112-time international has been active for the Italian top club since 2005. He has already played 535 official matches for the ‘Old Lady’.
Chiellini won the European title with Italy last month. The experienced captain was one of the heroes of the ‘Azzurri’. However, he was formally without a club at the time. His contract with Juventus ended at the end of June. After the European Championship, Chiellini went on holiday, but he never doubted a contract extension in Turin.
“Chiellini and Juventus are in each other’s DNA,” the club management said. “He is a huge part of our history, of our present and of our future. He embodies everything Juventus stands for. His dedication and great play over the last 16 years has earned him his new contract.”
