1047 Games was not expecting the reception they got from Splitgate, and stated that the extra days of waiting will be totally worth it.
Splitgate, the title that combines elements seen in sagas like Halo and Portal, will come out a bit later than planned. After the tremendous reception his beta had, his responsible studio, 1047 Games, had to take a few more days before launching it to the market, to fix and improve the servers of the title.
1047 Games received an additional $ 10 million to support the server fix. With the release previously anticipated for the July 27th, the announcement of the delay came at the last possible moment. Several players noticed the saturation on the Splitgate servers, and instead of fixing the problem with the title already in the hands of the community, 1047 Games decided to take it easy, and avoid some problems at launch.
“Our team was amazed at the incredible reception that the Splitgate community has shown us,” he said. Ian Proulx, CEO of 1047 Games. “With the sudden increase in players trying to break into the servers, we have to solve a series of technical problems that come along with this type of growth. We have worked hard to provide a title, and a good quality experience. Our biggest challenge is, simply, have a sufficient capacity to receive the whole community “.
Although the news of the delay is not exactly good, we know that the title is on the right track, and its excellent reception was the cause of its new release date. In fact, 1047 Games announced, that it received $ 10 million additional, as support for the arrangement of the servers.
Splitgate will arrive in August of this same year.
