The women’s triathlon at the Olympics starts a little later than planned. The start has been delayed by at least fifteen minutes due to the windy, stormy conditions.
The triathlon will now start at 11:45 pm at the earliest, in Japan it will then be 6:45 am in the morning. Because it is still raining hard, it could also be that the start will be later. The early time was chosen because of the expected heat.
Maya Kingma and Rachel Klamer are participating for the Netherlands. Kingma is the leader in the World Cup position. In early June, after Klamer, she became the second Dutch woman to win a World Triathlon Championships Series match.
