A very sad rumor has just been released for fans of the Wii U and the Nintendo 3DS, since everything seems to indicate that the 2 Nintendo consoles will stop receiving games in less than a year.
This information comes from the YouTube channel Impact Game Station where they assure that, through an email received, they could learn that Nintendo is planning to end the acceptance of new games for the eShop of each console as of April 1, 2022.
Additionally, the same email showed that Nintendo of Europe is encouraging companies with pending games to rush their development and submit their titles before then:
“We hereby wish to inform you that it has been decided to suspend the acceptance of submissions of new Nintendo 3DS / Wii U titles for launch in the eShop before the end of the current fiscal year (effective April 1, 2022) . These new titles must be approved no later than within 3 months after the submission deadline. “
Here you can see it:
On the other hand, and according to the information shared, Nintendo also confirmed that the Nintendo 3DS and Wii U eShop will remain active and patch shipments will continue to be processed until further notice.
It is worth mentioning that if we add this situation to the fact that the stores of both consoles will no longer accept credit card payments from January, we can say that the end of 2 o’clock is approaching.
All this is still a rumor and we will have to wait for an official message from Nintendo, although it is not at all unreasonable to think that these consoles are coming to an end.
