Modern Love is one of the anthological series Amazon Original that Prime Video flaunts in its catalog and is about to return with a new season: Friday 13th August will be uploaded to the platform streaming 8 new episodes. Here is the new trailer that has just been released.
The series consists of “disconnected” episodes, albeit with something that unites them: all the stories are set in the state of New York (between Albany, New York City, Schenectady, Troy but also with a trip to Dublin) and are inspired by the stories in the column Modern love of New York Times. If you have seen the first season, you will also have noticed how in the last episode the stories of the characters have somehow crossed each other. This second season, again under the direction of the Irishman John Carney, boasts a stellar cast as the previous one, including Dominique Fishback, Milan Ray, Anna Paquin, Lucy Boynton, Kit Harington, Jack Reynor and Tobias Menzies. Prime video it then wins another top title after the success of Solos, of which you can find our review by clicking on this link.
But why the column and the series of the same name (as well as the related book and podcast, all entitled Modern Love) are that successful? Is there still this need for movies and love stories? According to Carney
“With so much uncertainty in today’s world, these stories will bring truth and love to people wherever they are, and I am truly grateful to be part of the team that will make it possible. ”
In fact, the series has its own charm even for those who, like me, do not really have a penchant for the genre because by always dealing with stories of different characters in episodes of about half an hour each one remains fresh and not bored. We hope that this second season will also keep expectations.
Waiting for August 13 I leave you this link to review all the kisses of the first season which, if you haven’t seen it yet, you can retrieve it on Prime Video.
