After consulting with the Municipal Health Department, the mayor of São Paulo Ricardo Nunes (MDB-SP) reached the conclusion that cases of vaccine sommeliers — people who want to choose which immunizing agent against Covid-19 they will take — are not very significant in the city and need no action to inhibit them.
“We’re not having a problem with that yet. Cases have been punctual. I think it’s unnecessary at this point”, says the mayor to the Panel.
A bill on the subject, authored by councilor Carlos Bezerra Júnior (PSDB), was approved in a second vote at the São Paulo City Council this Friday (16), and now goes to the mayor’s sanction or veto.
The text provides that people who refuse to receive the immunizing agent available at the vaccination site are placed at the end of the line.
Survey of leaf as of July 9, counted 25 cities with anti-sommelier measures, including 5 capitals.
