ROME, JUL 12 – “Spencer,” Pablo Larrain’s highly anticipated film starring Kristen Stewart as Lady Diana, will be in world premiere competition at the Venice Film Festival (September 1-11). Variety anticipates it. Written by Steven Knight (author of “Peaky Blinders”), the film tells the decisive weekend of the early 90’s when Diana decided to separate from Prince Charles. It was during the Christmas holidays with the Royal Family gathered at Sandringham in Norfolk, when she decided to say enough to a marriage that was making her suffer. Charles of England is played by Jack Farthing, while the cast includes Timothy Spall, Sally Hawkins and Sean Harris. 2022 is the 25th anniversary of Diana’s death. (HANDLE).
