La Paz.- Before the Increase in Covid-19 infections in Baja California Sur, the La Paz City Council determined more restrictive measures as of this Thursday, which includes the total closure of beaches in this tourist municipality, the reduction of the hours of sale of alcoholic beverages, the closure of temples, gyms, and the prohibition of entry of minors to supermarkets and department store.
In a session of the Municipal Health Committee, headed by the Mayor Rubén Muñoz ÁlvarezIt was agreed that from July 8 to 15 the beaches of the coast of the municipal seat will remain closed, as well as those of the delegations, among them, the most visited by residents and tourists: Balandra, El Tecolote, El Coyote, El Saltito, El Tesoro, Coromuel, Comitán, San Juan De la Costa.
The mayor pointed out that surveillance in these sites will be reinforced so that the provisions are complied with and warned that the measure could be extended if the increase in cases in this capital continues, which to date registers 794 active cases.
He indicated that police elements in the delegations will make surveillance tours in the beach areas to “not allow under any circumstances” the stay of people on beaches such as El Sargento, La Ventana, Turquesa, Punta Arenas, Bahía de Los Sueños, El Cardonal and Los Barriles ”along the coast of the Gulf of California, and in the area of El Datilar, El Conejo, Punta Marqués, La Pastora, Las Playitas, Punta Lobos, Los Cerritos, Gaspareño, among others on the Pacific coast.

The Municipal Committee also determined that tours with peripherals will be carried out through different parts of the city, seeking to inhibit – said authorities – that they carry out activities that are not considered essential.
Likewise, it was agreed that gyms, temples and cinemas should remain closed during this period; The restaurants must close at the latest at 10:00 p.m. and the sale of alcoholic beverages will be until 5:00 p.m. in self-service stores and supermarkets. It was also determined that minors will not be able to enter department stores or supermarkets.
According to information from the Secretary of Health in BCS, the colonies with the most active infections registered in La Paz are: Centro, Camino Real, Conchalito, Los Olivos and Guerrero.
