The head of government of Mexico City, Claudia Sheinbaum Pardo, commented that before meet with the new mayors of the capital, mainly those of the opposition, the challenges of their electoral processes.
“A part of the process has yet to pass, there is some challenges that are still at handWe must be respectful of the Electoral Law and, in due course, there will be a council; meanwhile, the secretary of government has been in different meetings“, He said.
He stressed that the city is not divided, the city is one; and he remarked that the one who has stated that it is divided is the one who argues that there is a part of the city that pays taxes and another part that does not pay, or a part that has an economic level and another that does not.
“And, we are completely in against that discrimination and that class division of the city, that’s wrong; the city has always been supportive and it will continue to be supportive, and it will operate in an institutional manner, as established by the Constitution of Mexico City ”, he said.
He stressed that this week the mayors who won for Morena showed a map, where they ensure that Morena won the majority of the squares.
“It was something that I mentioned in a speech I made at the National Auditorium – which is worth commenting, because 75% of the polls in the June 6 Election. Notice, 75%, if you count by party, that is, Morena, PAN, PRI, etcetera; The vast majority of the squares were won by Morena as a party; that means that it is still the majority force; and, above all, a very important thing, beyond parties, is a progressive city, it is a city that fights for its rights, for its history ”, he said.
When questioning if there was not a division in Mexico City, since there was a group of the mayors of Morena and another of the mayors of the Alianza, she assured that she does not see it that way, because everyone expresses their ideas.
“That is part of freedom and democracy in the city, but it seems to me, well, that you have to build a single city; We have differences, obviously, we have differences and it also seems to us –and I will not stop saying it– that there was a very strong dirty campaign of lies in the city; but we have to act in an institutional way and, in due course, when this whole process is finished, well, it will act that way. And, we are going to continue supporting, mainly the neediest people in the city and to continue with the priority projects that we have, such as this one in the Historic Center of the City ”, he explained.
