Ventimiglia – A painter sued the Municipality of Ventimiglia for showing some of her works in one photo featured in the tourist guide of the city, published in 2020. The artist is now asking for the destruction of all copies of the volume and for the institution to be sentenced to pay compensation of 20 thousand euros. The administration of the mayor Gaetano Scullino thus appeared in court.
In the viewfinder, in particular, there would be the panoramic photo of an exhibition, which also portrays her works, realizing – according to the author – a violation of copyright. “We were struck and disconcerted by the request, which seemed unmotivated to us. Of course we opposed it. We are serene and calm and I believe that art deserves much more”, comments Mayor Gaetano Scullino.
