Junior Firpo leaves FC Barcelona after two years and joins Leeds United, as previously reported. At the Premier League club, he received a contract until 2025.
The left-back made 41 appearances in his two years with the Catalans, but never played an important role at Camp Nou. In order to restart his career, he insisted on a club change – Barça, which is currently happy about every transfer income, agreed.
According to the club, Leeds is transferring a transfer fee of 15 million euros to the Catalan metropolis. In addition, FC Barcelona secured a stake in a later sale – after all, 20% of the future transfer would also go to Barça.
When he arrived, Firpo had cost 18 million euros. In this respect, the Spaniards got away with a black eye and can avoid a major transfer minus.
