CREMONA, 21 JUN – Two young men, apparently both of Indian nationality, a boy and a girl, were found drowned in the waters of the Canale Vacchelli in Crema. First the girl’s body was recovered, in the late morning, and only a few minutes ago the boy’s body. On site the carabinieri and firefighters. At the moment, pending identification of the victims, all the hypotheses are being examined by the investigators. The most accredited is that a bath in the Canal, insidious due to its conformation, could have been fatal for them. The victims are 18-year-old Sakshi Panesar, a student of the ‘Galileo Galilei’ institute in Crema, and an unidentified 20-year-old friend of hers, both of Indian origin. At the moment, the hypothesis of a violent gesture is excluded: the investigators believe that it is a case of drowning of two boys who could not swim in that stretch of the canal called “the sea of the poor”. The girl was supposed to take the final exam next Thursday and the news shocked the school in Crema, where Sakshi is remembered as a reserved and diligent girl. (HANDLE).
