Thanks to the participation of citizens in the elections of June 6, Mexico has managed to become, once again, an international benchmark on how organize elections in complex situations, assured the president of the National Electoral Institutel (INE), Lorenzo Cordova Vianello.
In a video published on social networks, the INE president counselor presumed that all the missions of international observers coincide in highlighting and congratulating “the civic vocation of the Mexican people, their commitment to democracy and exemplary behavior that allowed the elections not to be one more victim of the pandemic of Covid-19 not a factor for the spread of contagion ”.
He stressed that the reports of these missions, which has begun to receive the OTHER, warn that despite an adverse environment, the political violence and the unfortunate action of crime in several municipalities of the country during the campaigns, the elections they passed peacefully in the vast majority of the installed polling stations, and in practically the entire country public powers could be renewed in a “peaceful and civilized” manner.

Lorenzo Cordova highlighted that foreign visitors belonging to international organizations such as the Organization of American States (OAS), the Inter-American Union of Electoral Organizations (SINGLE LARGE PEARL), the Permanent Conference of Political Parties of Latin America (Coppal) and the Southern Common Market (Mercosur), “Were able to verify the proper functioning of the electoral system that we Mexicans have built in recent decades.”

He recalled that for the June 6 elections, 559 foreign observers from 45 countries were accredited, who testified and attested to an exemplary election day in which more than 49 million voters participated.
