The Ferrari Challenge Trofeo Pirelli completed the weekend at the “Ricardo Tormo” in Valencia, thus entering the second part of the calendar. Two days of great emotions accompanied by the enthusiasm of 4,000 spectators who finally return to cheer and support the Ferrari 488 Challenge Evo live. Perfect weekend, in the Pirelli Trophy, for Niccolò Schirò (Rossocorsa) and, in the AM class, for Christian Brunsborg (Formula Racing). The riders went through the plein, taking two poles and two victories each. In the Shell Cup, on the other hand, Ernst Kirchmayr (Baron Motorsport) and Christian Kinch (Formula Racing) share the success in the two races, as well as Willem Van Der Vorm (Scuderia Monte-Carlo) and Joakim Olander (Scuderia Autoropa) among the AMs.

Pirelli Trophy. Niccolò Schirò shortens the distances in the standings and, with the double won at the weekend in Spain, gives continuity to his winning streak. The driver of Rossocorsa thus continues the hunt for the top positions of the general classification where, thanks to the third and second place conquered in Valencia, the Danish Michelle Gatting (Scuderia Niki – Iron Lynx) remains firmly in command. Thomas Neubauer (Charles Pozzi – Courage) returns to the Ferrari Challenge Trofeo Pirelli with a double podium having the better of Luka Nurmi (Formula Racing) and John Wartique (FML – D2P), respectively second and third in the championship.
Pirelli AM Trophy. The Spaniard Sergio Paulet (Santogal Madrid – MST Team) and the Dane Christian Brunsborg animate the AM category by becoming protagonists of two exciting races. The Formula Racing team’s standard bearer has the better of his rival both in wet conditions, during the race on Saturday, and in the sprint on Sunday. After this weekend, Brunsborg accumulates a championship lead of 29 points over the Madrid driver. The French Ange Barde (SF Côte d’Azur Cannes) follows with 43 points, protagonist of an unlucky second race after the third step of the podium conquered in

Coppa Shell. Twists and turns and spectacle, as usual, in the two rounds of the Coppa Shell. Ernst Kirchmayr, thanks to the victory in the wet in Race 1 and the second place in Race 2, is now leading the championship by two points ahead of the American James Weiland (Rossocorsa), who has to settle for a fourth and a third place at the weekend Valencian. Close fights characterized both races, with veteran Christian Kinch managing to take another win this hitherto very positive season. In Race 2 the Swede gets behind the two leaders of the general classification, respectively by 753 thousandths and by one second and 768 thousandths, thus lifting himself to third place in the class ranking.
Coppa Shell AM. The category did not betray the expectations: in Race 1 Willem Van Der Vorm puts on a show on the wet asphalt, starting from the first box and taking the third victory in a row after the two victories in Brno. Excellent performance by Ingvar Mattsson (Scuderia Autoropa) which is part of the Prancing Horse series by climbing the second step of the podium in front of the Italian Maurizio Pitorri (CDP – Best Lap). On Sunday it is Joakim Olander who sets his pace on the Monegasque, with the excellent Paolo Scudieri (SA.MO.CAR.) Completing the podium after a comeback from the 12th starting spot. Willem Van Der Vorm leaves the Valencia weekend at the top of the standings, followed by 19 points behind rival Olander. Giuseppe Ramelli (Rossocorsa – Pellin Racing) maintains the third position in the ranking while Scudieri climbs up to fourth place overall.
Next appointment. The fifth round of the Ferrari Challenge Trofeo Pirelli will be staged at the Nürburgring circuit from 27 to 29 August.
