Italy midfielder Manuel Locatelli stole the show with his good form at Euro 2020, European clubs were following him like Juventus and Arsenal, but Locatelli chose to focus on Italy at the moment.
Just 23 years old, the Sassuolo player stole the show at the European Cup with his superb form and most recently scored twice in Italy’s 3-0 win over Switzerland. In addition to the two clubs, Manchester City are also interested in him.
However, the AC Milan academy product chose to focus on the 2020 European Cup. Locatelli did not want his focus to be disturbed and talks about his future would only start after the European Cup.
“(Transfer rumours) are just talk. I will decide after the European Cup. There is a very important competition to play in, and I am only focused on this,” Locatelli said as quoted by Goal.
“I rely on what happens on the pitch, real things, everything else is just gossip, there’s no point in talking about it. When you are involved in such an important competition, you only focus on the task at hand.”
“We see kids on the street when we travel to our games waving flags, so it’s pretty easy to stay focused on the game.”
“I focus on what happens on the pitch because that’s the real thing. Everything else is just gossip and there’s no point in worrying about it,” concluded Locatelli.
