Lille star Sven Botman could not hide his excitement when he found out Liverpool were interested in him. According to him, being able to play at Liverpool and taste the atmosphere of the Premier League is one of his dreams.
Later the name Botman was indeed linked with the Reds ahead of the opening of the summer transfer market. The 21-year-old defender’s impressive appearance has made him a target for many European clubs.
“It was a tribute to me when I heard that there were a lot of clubs who were interested. It’s a lie if I say I’m not interested (in Liverpool), “Botman said as quoted by Goal.
“This is the first time a big club has been linked to me. The Premier League is a special competition, their style of football suits me.”
“But it is too early for me because in January I have only been at Lille for half a season. Very happy to hear the various news, but for now I focus on Lille,” he continued.
Before joining Lille, Botman first defended Jong Ajax and was loaned to SC Heerenveen. In the summer of last year Botman decided to join Lille for a fee of nine million euros and a five-year contract.
