Exclusive – Daniel Jebbison is one of the greatest talents in England. The two German heavyweights from Munich and Dortmund have their eyes on the young attacker from Sheffield United.
The 17-year-old has drawn the attention of a number of top clubs in recent months: Manchester United, Chelsea, Arsenal, Tottenham and Everton have all been linked to Jebbison on the island.
Jebbison made his Premier League debut in the Blades’ 2-0 defeat by Crystal Palace last week when he came on for Scottish international Oliver Burke in the second half. The teenager is considered one of the most promising youngsters in the country and Sheffield United is of course keen to keep him long-term – but that’s easier said than done when you consider the calibers interested in him.
How 90min has learned, the newly crowned Bundesliga champions FC Bayern and Borussia Dortmund are the last to join the long list of clubs that want to sign Jebbison.
The Blades hope to be able to retain the 1.90 meter tall striker in the long term, as they naturally aim to return to the Premier League immediately after being relegated to the championship. However, that also depends on who they appoint as the new coach, as Paul Heckingbottom is currently only in charge of Bramall Lane on an interim basis after the success of successful coach Chris Wilder.
Jebbison was born in Canada, but has so far known internationally to England. The youngster made his international debut for England’s U18 team in a 2-0 friendly against Wales.
The Blades have only three games to play in the 2020-21 season and Heckingbottom could see the Everton, Newcastle and Burnley encounters as an opportunity to give Jebbison a few minutes of first-team play to convince him that he is in will play regularly at the club next season.
