Manchester United, under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s, do look like they want to be active in bringing in new players in the summer transfer window of 2021 and the focus is now on the defense sector.
As is known, Solskjaer is looking for a duet partner with Harry Maguire at center-back, after he does not really trust Eric Bailly or Victor Lindelof to be played together with the Manchester United captain on a regular basis.
Therefore, the name Raphael Varane, who strengthens Real Madrid, is reportedly the main target of the Red Devils. Rumors of a chance to Old Trafford were increasingly sticking out when the French defender was rumored to have refused a contract extension with the Spanish capital team.
Varane, whose contract expires in 2022 and has the potential to leave El Real on a free transfer, also seems to make Real Madrid start thinking about giving up selling him after the 2020/21 season ends.
Now, the Daily Mail also reports that Manchester United are also ready to make an official offer by willing to spend 40 million pounds to bring the former RC Lens player to the city of Manchester.
Even so, it is unlikely that Madrid will respond to the first offer from the Red Devils, because the price offered by Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s club is too low for a player who has a market price of around 60 million pounds.
