The FA Cup win on Saturday made a lot of sense for the players and technical staff of Leicester City. “I dreamed of this when I was a child,” said captain and goalkeeper Kasper Schmeichel, who distinguished himself in the final against Chelsea at Wembley (1-0) in the final phase with a good save on a bet from Mason Mount.
“The persistence, our determination … I am so proud of everyone. Everyone within our team and staff has played a part in this victory. We are one whole”, continued Schmeichel.
Leicester City has never won the FA Cup before. “It has really been a collective effort,” said trainer Brendan Rodgers. “Normally the prizes go to the biggest clubs, but if we play like today we can compete with them.”
