Although the video game industry has existed for decades and is a millionaire business that can leave many benefits to its fans, there are those who refuse to see it and prefer to criticize them without foundation. Such is the case of Andrés Manuel López Obrador, president of Mexico, who once again criticized gaming.
In the morning, a press conference that López Obrador makes from the National Palace, the president answered several questions from journalists. There a reporter asked him a question related to accusations made against him by members of the opposition; for his opinion on the actions of Enrique Alfaro, governor of Jalisco, among other things.

Somehow, López Obrador managed to transform his response into a monologue lasting more than 15 minutes in which he accused journalists of corruption; He assured that the Mexican population supports him and even compared his approval ratings with those of other leaders. Of course, he also took the opportunity to accuse video games of being violent, racist and classist, while ensuring that it is important to find a new mentality.
“How not to talk about these issues [violentos] with the children in the house. Those television program … The Machinists, where violence, racism is spread. Last time we commented on it … in the clashes in the machines, a human being of color, an African American, is worth less than a white man ”, were the words of the President of Mexico.
In his long answer, López Obrador did not have time to explain what game he is referring to, or where he learned of its existence. In this way, we will spend more days without knowing exactly what it was that AMLO saw that scandalized him enough to talk about it instead of addressing the many problems of Mexico. No way.
What had AMLO said about video games?
We remind you that on April 15, AMLO also had the spotlight of the gaming community. This since he made statements in which he criticized video games, but what exactly did he say?
In his press conference, López Obrador pointed out that there are video games that promote violence, racism and classism. Thus, he pointed to them as a negative in a world where “a change of mind” is needed.

“Some people were telling me with concern about what children see on television or in games. The violence … the confrontations that occur in racist games. In the game, taking the life of an African American or a Mexican has I don’t know what value, if they are white they are worth more or less. Those things, then, we do need to move on, a change of mentality, “were AMLO’s statements on the morning of last month.
