Recently the automobile manufacturer Fisker had announced an agreement for a collaboration with the electronics giant Foxconn. The latter, famous for its long-standing contract with Apple, is in pole position to build electric cars for the brand, with volumes of 250,000 units per year starting in the fourth quarter of 2023.
However, one important detail was missing, but it has been defined: the country of production. In fact, the United States will host the plant that will put Fisker in a position to sell its electric cars at highly competitive prices, or about 24,600 euros. Foxconn is already present in the United States with a manufacturing plant in Mount Pleasant, Wisconsin. But his plans have been scaled back over the years and there is still little clarity about what will happen locally.

Spokesman Simon Sproule explained to Automotive News that the joint project between Fisker and Foxconn is being completed in all its parts, and added that now interested companies will be able to invest money and human resources. Meanwhile, Fisker will show its first vehicle, the Ocean SUV, at the Los Angeles Auto Show next November. While with regard to the car with Foxconn no details are known, except that Foxconn should not appear as a trademark on the vehicle as the contract relates exclusively to the production. According to the memorandum of understanding, this car will be destined for all major global markets.
For Fisker, once the contract with Foxconn is completed, this will be the second major agreement in recent months, after announcing the collaboration in Europe with the Magna group. The multinational car manufacturing company will build the Ocean SUV starting in the first quarter of 2022. While for Foxconn it is a possible new adventure in the automotive world, after giving the ok to the production of Byton vehicles. The automotive sector, with the advent of electric, is definitely expanding.
