The Specialized Prosecutor for Electoral Crimes carried out a diligence of search to the municipal presidency of Comalapa border, for the alleged commission of electoral crimes, according to various complaints filed.
Ministerial officials, specialized police and expert services, deployed an operation to inspect files and official, financial and accounting documentation of the city council administration.
The Office of the Special Prosecutor for Electoral Crimes opened an investigation folder in response to complaints of alleged electoral crimes in the form of coercion of subordinates to participate in acts of electoral proselytism and use of public resources.
As part of the inspection at the municipal presidency, public officials from the Electoral Prosecutor’s Office reviewed the facilities of the municipal secretariat and treasury.

The Specialized Prosecutor for Electoral Crimes informed that after the search, the corresponding ministerial investigations will continue to determine whether or not there is a crime electoral for legal action, as determined by the jurisdictional authority.
Elections in Chiapas 2021
Chiapas electoral campaigns for local deputies and members of city councils began on May 4, which will conclude on June 2.
On June 6, Chiapas will elect 24 local councils with a majority, 16 with proportional representation, and 123 municipal presidents.
14 political parties participate in the contest, 10 national, four of state registration, in addition 10 independent lists, which nominated more than 12,600 candidates.
