Chelsea will host Real Madrid at Stamford Bridge in the second leg of the Champions League semi-final. The aggregate of both goals was equally strong at 1-1 and the Blues brought away goals. This means that Chelsea can qualify even though the game ends goalless.
However, it is predicted that Thomas Tuchel’s Chelsea will not play defensively against Zinedine Zidane’s team. Following are the predictions of the line-ups for Chelsea to face the 13-time Champions League winners:
The position of the goalkeeper will not change. Edouard Mendy will be Chelsea’s main goalkeeper with a 3-4-2-1 mainstay formation. His alacrity is expected to be able to stem Madrid, which has Karim Benzema up front.
The three defenders in front of him are potentially filled by Andreas Christensen, Thiago Silva and Antonio Rudiger. The three of them were overlaid by Cesar Azpilicueta and Kurt Zouma.
The four players who occupy the midfield consist of two midfielders and two wing-backs. On the left wing there is Ben Chilwell covered by Marcos Alonso and on the right wing if not played Reece James, then Azpilicueta filled that position.
Meanwhile, the two central midfielders were filled by N’Golo Kante dan Jorginho. Both are expected to win the ball in midfield, besides them there are also Billy Gilmour and ex-Madrid Mateo Kovacic who are reportedly able to play after recovering from injury.
Two attackers or attacking midfielders at the back Timo Werner potentially occupied Mason Mount and Christian Pulisic. The dynamic movement of the three is expected by Tuchel to overwhelm Madrid’s defense.
In this area Tuchel has many options to play. There are still Tammy Abraham and Olivier Giroud in attack, then Hakim Ziyech and Kai Havertz are also available to play.
